Hardware
I currently have:
- 2 x Beelink Ser 5 5560U
- 1 x Beelink S12 N100
- Windows laptop for local development
- GL.iNet GL-MT6000 router with OpenWrt firmware
Ideally, I would have 3 identical physical machines for Proxmox cluster.
Router Upgrade
Static IPs
My Proxmox hosts and NAS use static IPs.
After configuring the new router's gateway IP to match the old one (192.168.0.1), these machines came back online without issue.
DHCP IPs
All VMs (K3s cluster and Tailscale exit nodes) stopped working because I was hardcoding some IPs in them.
Fortunately, I have my documents and IaC (Terraform and K3s files in Git repo) to rebuild them. To avoid the same issue in the future, I will assign static IPs to these critical VMs.
Only temporary short-living VMs should have dynamic IPs, in my opinion.
